Will you Walk???

By the end of the week at camp last week, I heard, “I wish that we could stay here forever. Camp is so awesome and it is so easy to stay close to Christ where I should be.” This is such an encouraging thing to know that God is moving in that way in so many different student’s lives. But we cannot lose focus of what we learned all week. Camp is a great place of retreat where we can fill up our spiritual tanks, but once we fill up, we must go out and share what we have experienced with others.

While at camp, Brenan taught us about our responsibility as Christians. First to Love God- putting nothing before our love for God. Second he taught us that we need to love others. He focused on the passage where Jesus teaches us that we cannot Love God who we have not seen unless we can love others we see daily.

So how do we go about doing this??? We have to do it by the last thing that Brenan taught. Go! Matthew 28 teaches us that we must, Preach, Baptize and Disciple. Not just the church, not just pastors, but each and everyone of us.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.

Matthew 28:19-20

Each of us filled up at camp; each of us experienced God at camp; now our responsibility is to take our experience and share it with someone else. Many of us fear that we wont have the right words to say, or be able to answer all the questions our friends ask us. The reality is that you are right. You cannot do it. You don’t have all the answers, that is why we must rely on Christ. Pray that he give us the courage and the words to speak to our lost friends.

So now that we have left the camp bubble- the retreat from the real world, this is when things get tough. This is when we get tested to see if we will “walk the walk.” At camp we may have “talked the talk” but now, WILL YOU WALK???

“Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.””

James 2:18

Now that you are home, now that God has put your faith to the test, show Christ your faith! Love God by loving others! Love others by teaching others to obey all the commandments which Jesus has taught us.
